About Us

Four years in SPACE – and beyond!

OK Joinery ltd has started the New Year in larger new premises having fledged from the SPACE incubation business centre at Hoo Farm Industrial Estate.

After four years in the SPACE building, Tibor Kunya and Mirek Ochnik, owners of OK Joinery ltd now occupy Unit 23 at the Hoobrook Enterprise Centre just off Silverwoods Way (the new Hoo Brook Link Road) in Kidderminster.

Mirek said:

“We designed, produced and installed the lockers for the changing rooms at the new Specsavers facility, IGS (International Glazing Service Ltd) just up the road in Kidderminster.  The feedback has been very positive from them and we are now taking this forward as a significant part of our business.

With recommendations from satisfied customers taking pride of place on their website, OK joinery ltd are now actively pursuing orders from leisure companies, property developers, architects and specifiers, property managers and  property project managers.

Tibor said:

“After four years in the SPACE building it was time for us to move the business.  We needed larger premises to house our expanding range of machinery and also to store stocks of materials and finished projects.  We also wanted a separate office and dust free operation area, so we were very pleased that this unit at Hoobrook Enterprise Centre was available.  Wyre Forest District Council have continued to support us as we move to this next stage of our development and helped us make this move as smooth as possible.

“Our expertise is in designing, creating and fitting innovative furniture for small spaces. We love the challenge of making bespoke furniture to fit a specific space with a specific function.

“Our skills completely lend themselves to creating kitchens, bookshelves in tight corners, desks and workstations. We have also launched a range of bespoke lockers – perfect for changing rooms, and commercial uses.

Cllr Ian Hardiman, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Regeneration said

“We congratulate Tibor and Mirek for continuing to grow their business here in Kidderminster.  We are know they have been operating in economic challenging times, so they are to be admired for continuing to diversity to meet the needs of their customers.

Cllr Howard Williams, Wyre Forest District Council’s Member Champion for Business said
“We are very pleased that OK Joinery has moved into large premises following its start-up period in SPACE.  The objective of the SPACE building is as an ‘incubation’ centre where businesses benefit from affordable rental and flexible tenancy terms as they progress through their early years. It’s great to see this vision come to life for a local company and we wish them every success in this next stage of their business ”.

The two experienced joiners were originally made redundant when Kidderminster firm Sealine went into administration so they turned their talents into a brand new business making bespoke furniture.  The dynamic duo had both worked at Sealine for seven years, making cabinetry for the motor cruisers the company was famous for.
